West Point to Bridge Loop

Distance: 2.3 miles (loop)

Difficulty: 2

This is another great walk on well-maintained trails with with views of Lighthouse Point to the north, West Point to the west and the bridge area to the east.  Begin either at the bridge , North Beach Parking Lot, or West Beach Parking Lot (I prefer starting this one at the bridge, but it does mean finishing the walk with an ascent).

Maximum trail elevation is approximately 170 feet and lowest is sea-level.  The marked path captured below shows one segment through the "upland" forest edge with the return segment along the beach.  (The tide could be a factor in your ability to utilize the beach for the majority of the route due to three rocky promontories that reach the water at many tides.  Side trails from the beach and around the promontories can remedy this issue.)  There are several marked cross-trails with opportunities for further exploration and a few steep drop-offs in places near the trail, so keep youngsters nearby and, as always, watch your step.
