The Hoypus Logging Road trail offers a good walk over smooth terrain. The area surrounding this trail has numerous signs indicating date and method of logging as well as method of remediation. To follow the logging road, begin at the east end of Ducken Road and stay to the left on the route shown below. This captured representation involved a round-trip shortened somewhat on the return by utilizing the signed "Short Trail".
This trail can be combined with the Hoypus Point hike (utilizing the Hemlock Hideaway connection trail) for a lengthier walk. Also see South Park Trails superimposed on aerial photo (50K) and Hoypus Point topo relief 1 and relief 2.
