Support from the Foundation has enabled the park to continue offering guided visits for schools and large groups. The park receives no State Parks funding for interpretation and recent staffing cuts have placed an enormous workload on park rangers. Keeping Interpretive Services staffed—especially during spring and summer—is one of our top priorities.
Deception Pass is a great place for field trips! The park has a lot to offer:
- Rosario Beach Tide Pools (now with a microscope-equiped field classroom)
- West Beach Sand Dunes (w/ 13 interpretive signs)
Old Growth Forests- Sandy Beaches
- Freshwater Lakes
- The Civilian Conservation Corps Interpretive Center
If you’re interested in scheduling a group visit, please contact Deception Pass Interpretive Services at (360) 675-3767 ext. 31 or sam.wotipka@parks.wa.gov.
In order to ensure the continuance of interpretation and educational activities at Deception Pass, a donation of $2 per student/attendee is requested.
The Discover Pass is now required at all Washington State Parks. However, there are some exemptions for school groups. Please click here for more information.
