In late 2005 a group of Deception Pass State Park neighbors came together and decided it was time to do something about the disparity between the general funds available to the Park and the enormous backlog of resource protection and education projects. The Deception Pass Park Foundation became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation in 2006.
The Foundation’s mission is to support education, interpretation and resource protection at Deception Pass State Park.
